Lot 50F: A Collection of Order of Women Freemasons Silver and Enamel Regalia and Ephemera
A collection of regalia and ephemera related to the Order of Women Freemasons, also known as The Honourable Fraternity of Antient Masonry. The assortment includes two blue cloth-bound volumes titled Constitutions with gilt lettering to the front covers, and a smaller black leather-bound volume with gilded page edges. A silver and enamel Diamond Jubilee jewel dated 1908-1968 is featured, with two bars inscribed DIAMOND and JUBILEE connected by chains, and a central pendant decorated with Masonic pillars, a temple, and an all-seeing eye with an inset stone. The reverse of the jewel bears the impressed characters D B & N. This item is housed in a light blue card box. Two silver keystone medals with red and white striped ribbons are presented in a black case with a blue velvet lining. The interior lid is gold-stamped for the makers SPENCER & CO, 19, 20 & 21 GREAT QUEEN ST. LONDON W.C. ESTD 1801. One medal bears the impressed characters F.F. LONDON BRIGHTON and SILVER to the reverse, while the other is stamped P & S and STERLING. The collection is completed by a small silver-toned bar inscribed DIAMOND JUBILEE, a scroll-shaped badge inscribed ASSISTANT, and a white card box printed for MARPLES & BEASLEY LTD, Birmingham.
