Lot 550: large Elongated boat shaped stoneware studio pottery dish with impressed decoration 48cm long

A boat-shaped stoneware studio pottery dish of elongated form. The interior features a central longitudinal row of twelve impressed shield-shaped motifs, each containing horizontal linear decoration and individual applications of blue, turquoise, and green glazes. The surrounding surface and exterior walls are finished in a mottled olive-brown and grey-green matt glaze. The underside is unglazed, revealing a dark terracotta-toned clay body with a regular corded texture. The base bears an incised monogram near the centre consisting of a vertical line with a greater-than symbol joined to the right side, bisected by a short horizontal line through the centre point. The monogram is not legible as a name.
