Lot 556: A Trio of West German Goebel Hummel Glazed Ceramic Figurines
A trio of West German glazed ceramic figurines, comprising three depictions of children in traditional Bavarian-style attire. The collection features two models with the stylised bee mark and one with a later printed mark.
The first figurine depicts a standing boy dressed in a green jacket, brown lederhosen, and a red neckerchief, carrying a large wicker basket on his arm while looking upwards. The underside of the circular base is printed with a blue mark reading © Goebel above W. Germany, accompanied by handwritten black characters reading Mu over 84.
The second figurine shows a girl wearing a red headscarf, brown bodice, and green skirt, seated atop a rustic wooden fence with a small animal positioned at the base. The underside of the oval base bears a blue printed mark featuring a large V with a stylised bee inside, beside text reading © by over W. Goebel over W. Germany. Incised numbers 198 / I and 1948 are also present on the base.
The third figurine portrays a girl in a red headscarf and blue polka-dot skirt sitting within the branches of a blossoming tree. The underside of the circular base is printed with a blue V mark containing a stylised bee above W. Germany, with a small handwritten black number 2. nearby.
