A specimen coin set from the United Kingdom, issued in 1937 to commemorate the coronation of King George VI. The collection includes 11 coins struck in 50% silver, nickel-brass, and bronze, consisting of a Crown, Half Crown, Two Shillings (Florin), two Shillings (English and Scottish variants), Sixpence, silver Threepence, nickel-brass Threepence, Penny, Halfpenny, and Farthing. The coins are presented in a burgundy leatherette case with a white textured inner lid and a black coin tray protected by a clear film. The exterior lid features a gold-tone printed royal cypher ‘G VI R’ above the text ‘GEORGE VI SPECIMEN COIN SET 1937’ and a gold-tone printed maker’s name ‘Tudor’ in the lower-left corner. The interior lid bears a silver-tone foil medallion stamp of the obverse design with the legend ‘GEORGIVS VI D : G : BR : OMN : REX’. The coin reverses feature various heraldic and symbolic designs with legends including ‘FID : DEF : IND : IMP’ and the date ‘1937’.
