Lot 612: A Trio of Cased Flatware Services to include a Schofields of Sheffield Canteen

An assortment of three cased flatware services. A cased set of four serving spoons features fluted shell-form bowls and stems with faceted terminals. The interior lid contains a black and gold silk label reading Collingwood and Son Ltd Sunderland, Stockton, West Hartlepool, Hull and Middlesbrough. The spoons are constructed from silver-plated metal. An oak canteen contains a service of flatware in an Art Deco geometric pattern with stepped terminals. The knife blades are etched with a mark in a rectangular cartouche reading SCHOFIELDS OF SHEFFIELD FIRTH STAINLESS. The knives have white handles, while the forks and spoons are silver-plated. The service is housed in a fitted oak case with red felt lining. A cased fish service includes knives and forks with engraved scrolling foliate decoration to the blades and tines. The off-white handles have a vertical grain and are fitted with mounts stamped STERLING SILVER. A label inside the lid reads STERLING SILVER MOUNTS SHEFFIELD MADE. The set is housed in a black leatherette case with a silk and velvet-lined interior.
