Lot 660: A Set of Carlton Ware Australian Design ceramic condiment pieces

An English hand-painted earthenware condiment set. The collection comprises an elongated oval tray, asymmetric teardrop-shaped shakers, and a globular lidded mustard pot. The pieces feature a two-tone glaze with a pale celadon-cream body contrasted by a deep forest green glaze applied to the shaker tops, the mustard pot lid, and the interior surface of the tray. The underside of the tray bears a printed black mark reading Carlton Ware Handpainted in stylized script, positioned above the block text MADE IN ENGLAND, TRADE MARK, REGISTERED, and AUSTRALIAN DESIGN. Three small green paint marks are present above the printed stamp. The shakers are fitted with black circular stoppers to the base. The mustard pot lid is designed with a recessed spoon notch. The pale-coloured glaze sections exhibit an overall network of fine crazing.
