Lot 735: A Royal Albert Old Country Roses pattern bone china tea service including boxed gold-plated cutlery

A Royal Albert bone china tea service in the Old Country Roses pattern, featuring the Montrose shape with stippled gold rims and multi-coloured transfer-printed floral motifs of burgundy, pink, and yellow roses with green foliage. The service comprises a teapot with a domed lid and scroll handle, six teacups with fluted bases and scroll handles, six matching saucers with scalloped edges, and six matching side plates with scalloped edges. Included are two presentation boxes containing gold-plated cutlery with porcelain handle inserts: a set of six teaspoons and one cake server. The ceramic pieces bear a transfer-printed backstamp on the base consisting of a floral rose graphic above pink script text reading Old Country Roses, followed by green block capital text reading ROYAL ALBERT, BONE CHINA, and ENGLAND (photo 5). The cutlery presentation boxes bear red oval labels with the text ROYAL ALBERT, Old Country Roses, and GOLD PLATED & FINE PORCELAIN (photo 2).
