A maritime harbour scene in watercolour and gouache on paper by Albert H. Herbert. The composition depicts a large grey naval or merchant vessel docked at a quay on the left, flying a Union Jack. In the foreground, two figures in heavy coats and hats are positioned near a metal railing. A second large ship, possibly a tanker, is shown in the mid-ground navigating choppy blue-grey waters alongside smaller tugs, with various cranes visible along the distant horizon. The work is signed in white gouache in the lower right corner Albert H Herbert. The painting is housed behind glass in a fluted silver-gilt frame with a double-layered cream and blue mount.
