Lot 175: A Pair of Antique White Metal Mounted Hunting Horns

A pair of polished horn hunting bugles, each constructed from a curved natural horn with a dark brown to black finish and pale graining. Both horns feature flared white metal bell ends with scalloped interior borders and white metal mounting bands fitted with suspension loops. The first horn is decorated with a central brass-toned plaque featuring a stag head and coronet crest above a rectangular cartouche with an applied uppercase serif monogram reading CR, flanked by laurel leaves. It is fitted with a stepped white metal mouthpiece. The second horn is mounted with a white metal shield-shaped plaque surmounted by a cast figure of a standing stag.
