Lot 178: A Pair of subsrtantial Brass Barrelled Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistols

A pair of flintlock blunderbuss pistols featuring flared brass barrels with approximately 2 inch muzzles and engraved geometric and foliate motifs. The locks are constructed with brass plates, swan-neck cocks, and decorated steel springs, while the stocks are carved from a dark-stained hardwood and fitted with ornate brass furniture including engraved side plates, trigger guards, and pommel caps. The larger pistol measures approximately 43cm in total length with a brass-tipped ramrod, and the smaller companion measures approximately 36cm with a steel ramrod, both featuring steel lanyard rings to the pommels. No visible maker’s marks or proof marks are present on the metalwork or wood. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
