Lot 181: A Collection of Jersey 1966 Five Shillings Commemorative Coins including a Royal Mint Two-Coin Proof Set

A collection of cupro-nickel commemorative Five Shillings (Crown) coins issued by Jersey. The lot includes a two-coin set housed in a rectangular red leatherette presentation case with gold-toned lettering on the lid reading JERSEY 1966 CROWN. The interior lid features a cream silk lining with a printed crest and the text ROYAL MINT. Also included is a group of loose coins of the same issue. The coins commemorate the 900th anniversary of the Norman Conquest. The obverse displays the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND. The reverse features the coat of arms of Jersey, depicting three lions passant guardant on a shield, flanked by the dates 1066 and 1966, with the denomination FIVE SHILLINGS below. The coins in the case appear to be proof or specimen strikes, while the loose coins show characteristics of uncirculated or brilliant uncirculated condition.
