Lot 205: A collection of vintage glass apothecary bottles and a ceramic mortar and pestle

A collection of fifteen vintage apothecary and chemist items comprising various glass vessels and a mortar and pestle. The glassware includes three embossed bottles: a large rectangular aqua bottle embossed SCOTTS EMULSION, a smaller rectangular aqua bottle with a ground glass stopper embossed ELLIMANS EMBROCATION, and a large cylindrical amber bottle embossed MIDDLEMAS REGISTERED KELSO with a central oval containing A. Middlemas and TRADE MARK. Five green glass bottles are present, including four rectangular ribbed poison bottles, one of which bears a paper label for PARK CHEMISTS, 1 Park Road, Whitley Bay, Northumberland dated August 1974. A tall green rectangular bottle features a similar paper label dated 17th August 1974. A small green round bottle has a ground glass disc-top stopper. Amber glassware includes a bell-form bottle with a ground glass stopper, a small cylindrical bottle with a cord-tied stopper, and a small rectangular ribbed bottle. The collection is completed by a white ceramic mortar with a pouring lip and a corresponding ceramic-headed pestle with a textured handle. No maker marks are visible to the base of the mortar.
