Lot 258: A late 19th century clear glass apothecary shelf bottle with reverse-painted label
A clear glass apothecary bottle of cylindrical form featuring a ground neck and a mushroom-shaped glass stopper. The piece includes a removable internal glass pouring spout. Adhered to the front is a reverse-painted glass label with a gilded outer border and a red inner border on a white ground. The label bears the black printed text OL. OLIV. OPT. which is an abbreviation for the Latin Oleum Olivae Optimum.
