Lot 304: A collection of four antique clear glass apothecary bottles

A collection of four antique clear glass apothecary bottles, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Each bottle features a tapered square section body with rounded shoulders and a ground glass stopper. The bottles are labelled with enamelled or gilded text to the fronts. One bottle displays two lines of black enamelled text reading AMM. CHLOR. for ammonium chloride. A second bottle features three lines of faded gilded and black text reading ACID PHOSPH. DIL. for dilute phosphoric acid. A third bottle shows two lines of faded gilded and black text reading ACID LACTIC for lactic acid. The fourth bottle is labelled with two lines of black enamelled text reading HYD. SUBCHL. for hydrargyrum subchloridum, or calomel. The bottles retain ground glass stoppers of varying designs, including tall rectangular and broad flat fin styles. No maker’s marks or country-of-origin marks are visible.
