Lot 333: An E Brooks of Newcastle Black Fur Felt Fedora and a Copper and Brass Bugle

A two-part lot featuring a gentleman’s black fur felt fedora and a military-style bugle. The fedora is constructed from black fur felt and features a matching grosgrain ribbon band with a bow and a leather inner sweatband. A partially detached silk-like interior lining label is printed with a gold-tone illustration of a historic building and castle tower above text reading Established 1810, E. Brooks, The HATTER, 59. Clayton Street, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE. The tan leather sweatband is embossed with the cursive text Guaranteed all Fur. The accompanying bugle is crafted from copper with brass reinforcements at the bell, joints, and mouthpiece receiver. The instrument is wrapped in a multi-coloured decorative braided cord of red, black, and yellow fibers, terminating in two large tassels. The mouthpiece is not present.
