Lot 359: An oak twin pedestal desk in the Jacobean Revival style 118x74x48cm

A twin pedestal desk constructed from solid oak and oak veneers. The rectangular top sits above a central frieze drawer featuring a deep-relief foliate carving in the Jacobean Revival manner. This central drawer is flanked by two shorter drawers. Each pedestal is equipped with two drawers, with the bottom right example featuring a double-fronted height common to filing drawers. The drawer fronts are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints, visible on the lighter-toned secondary timbers when opened. The interiors of all drawers are lined with a black material. The unit is fitted with brass-toned circular backplates and ball-shaped pull knobs. The entire piece is mounted on four small black casters.
