Lot 407: A large cast metal tree sculpture with openwork canopy 63cm tall

A decorative tabletop sculpture in the form of a tree, featuring a stylised openwork canopy with intricate fretwork detailing. The piece is constructed from cast metal, likely bronze or a heavy alloy, finished with a multi-toned variegated patina including shades of copper, brown, and green. The trunk is integrated with the branching canopy and tapers down to meet an oval solid metal base with a dark aged finish. On the top surface of the base, behind the trunk, there is an impressed mark, which is not clearly legible as a name or specific maker (photo 1). A further series of characters is visible on the side edge of the oval base, but these are not decipherable (photo 3).
