Lot 408: Oil on canvas portrait of a young man in the Dutch Golden Age style

This oil on canvas portrait depicts a bearded young man in three-quarter view, presented in a style consistent with the Dutch Golden Age. The sitter is dressed in a dark beret and a pleated white ruff collar over dark garments, illuminated by dramatic chiaroscuro that focuses light on the face and collar.
