Lot 436: A Trio of Decorative Prints in Ornate Gilt Composition Frames

A trio of colour prints housed in heavily ornate gilt composition frames. The collection includes three distinct subjects: a Dutch-style genre scene depicting a family harvest of grapes, a traditional English equestrian scene with a rider in a red jacket and a groom holding a second horse, and a sentimental Victorian-style illustration of three young girls playing with two small dogs in a garden.

The frames are constructed with deep, molded composition in a late Baroque style, featuring prominent scrolling foliate and shell motifs at the corners and centres. The inner borders of the frames show a textured, cross-hatched pattern. A brown paper label is adhered to the reverse of one frame which reads CARVERS and GILDERS / Picture Makers / and / Restorers / ENGLAND / BEVELLED GLASS and OLD FRAMES REGUILT in black typeface. One of the prints is set within a wide gold-toned mount.
