Lot 446: A set of eight hammered copper and stainless steel balti serving bowls and warming stands

A set of eight traditional table service items designed in a North Indian style. The set consists of six serving bowls with lids and two warming stands (sigris) containing internal bowls. The exteriors are constructed from hand-hammered copper with a dimpled texture. Each lid is fitted with a cast brass finial, and the warming stands feature decorative brass scrollwork handles and feet. The interiors of all vessels are lined with machine-pressed stainless steel for food service practicality. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the pieces.
