Lot 595: Trio of Pencil Signed Etchings of Female Nudes by Jean Vyboud

A trio of intaglio prints, specifically etchings with drypoint, featuring studies of the female nude. The set includes two vertical compositions showing figures from the back—one crouching and one seated—along with a larger horizontal composition depicting a reclining figure. The works are executed in a sepia-toned ink on cream-coloured wove paper. Each piece exhibits a distinct plate mark, confirming they are pulled from a hand-worked plate. The impressions show a clear tonal range and fine detail in the anatomical rendering. Every print is hand-signed in pencil in the lower right margin ‘Jean Vyboud’. The prints are presented in matching wooden frames with a dark grain, silver-toned inner slips, and glazed fronts.
