Lot 607: A Trio of Antique Decorative Boxes including Scent Bottle Casket and Work Boxes

A trio of antique decorative boxes comprising a scent bottle casket, a floral work box, and a romantic scene glove-style box. The scent bottle casket is crafted from mahogany with a domed lid, decorated with brass strapping and stud detailing. It features a top handle and a green silk and velvet-lined interior housing three square-bodied cut glass scent bottles with faceted ball stoppers. The cut glass bottles feature a hobnail and starburst pattern. The second item is a rectangular wooden work box with a hinged lid featuring hand-painted floral motifs within a marquetry border. The front of the box is decorated with three circular mother-of-pearl inlays. The interior is lined with green velvet. The third item is an elongated rectangular box finished in a faux-tortoiseshell effect. The lid is decorated with a transfer-printed central cartouche depicting an 18th-century style romantic couple in a landscape. The box opens to reveal a vibrant red-lacquered interior. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on any of the pieces.
