Lot 66: Victorian Sterling Silver and Mother of Pearl Folding Fruit Knife by John Round and Son Ltd 1898 Circa 42g gross

A Victorian folding fruit knife featuring a single sterling silver blade and mother of pearl handle scales. The silver blade is struck with a series of four marks: a crown for Sheffield, a lion passant for sterling silver, a lowercase date letter f in a shaped shield, and a maker’s mark in a rectangular punch reading J.R for John Round and Son Ltd. The handle is constructed with polished iridescent mother of pearl scales, one of which features an inset rectangular silver cartouche. The knife is finished with a chased silver bolster decorated with a foliate design and decorative milled liners with a repeating geometric pattern.
