Lot 713: A Fortnum & Mason lidded wicker hamper basket

A hand-woven willow wicker hamper basket of rectangular form with a natural finish. The body is constructed using a paling weave technique, while the lid features a thick-rimmed randing weave. The lid is secured to the body by two brown leather straps fastened with metal rivets. The front of the basket is decorated with a black stencilled monogram. The monogram consists of the literal characters F, &, and M, which denotes the brand Fortnum & Mason. The interior is unlined, showing the natural wicker construction.
