Lot 716: Two Pieces of Mid-Century Bi-Colour and Pulled Feather Art Glass
This lot comprises two pieces of mid-century hand-blown art glass. The first item is a sommerso glass centrepiece bowl of elongated, free-form design. It features a pulled and undulated rim that terminates in two tightly scrolled handles at each end. The bowl employs a bi-colour transition, with a deep cranberry upper section merging into a warm amber base, all encased within a thick layer of clear glass. It stands on an applied six-lobed clear glass foot.
The second item is a small teardrop-shaped vase featuring a pulled, asymmetrical jack-in-the-pulpit style rim with a dark finished edge. The body is decorated with a mottled deep cranberry-pink ground overlaid with a white pulled feather or net-like internal pattern, displaying subtle iridescent highlights. Both pieces are free of maker’s marks, signatures, or adhesive labels.
