Lot 738: An Antique Scroll Radio Station Index and a Brass Kingfisher Figurine

This lot comprises two antique items including a desk-top radio station chart and a decorative brass bird. The radio chart is housed in a dark-stained wooden cabinet, constructed with fretwork to the front panel featuring the words RADIO and CHART. The front panel is secured by two decorative brass hinges at the top. The internal mechanism consists of a paper scroll mounted on two wooden rollers, operated by hexagonal knobs to the right-hand side. The printed scroll lists numerous European radio stations, including locations such as Prague (Czecho-Slovakia), Stamboul Istanbul (Turkey), and North Regional (Moorside Edge), alongside their respective wavelengths in metres. The scroll features handwritten ink annotations to the right margin, reading M. 90. and L. 83. The second item is a cast brass figurine depicting a kingfisher perched upon a stump. The bird is rendered with detailed plumage and a long beak, fixed to a circular integral base. The underside of the base shows a single small circular indentation.
